Experience

Antitrust/Competition

Adrian played a key role as part of the legal team dealing with ground breaking claims as follows:

  • Representing proposed class representative, technology journalist Charles Arthur, in a collective action filed in the CAT seeking up to £3.4bn on behalf of over 200,000 UK publishers of websites and apps against tech giant Google who allegedly has unlawfully restricted competition by favouring its own ad tech services and charging inflated prices in the online display advertising market to publishers since at least 2014.
  • Acting on behalf of Christine Riefa Class Representative Limited, an SPV established by Professor Christine Riefa for the purpose of bringing a claim against Apple and Amazon on behalf of millions of UK consumers who purchased Apple products. The collective action seeks damages of at least £500m for UK consumers who paid higher prices for Apple products due to a secret deal between the global corporations, which saw Amazon restricting sales of Apple products by independent merchants on its marketplace.

Commercial & Financial Disputes

Previously, Adrian acted as the lead associate advising a multinational conglomerate in a £1bn fraudulent misrepresentation and contractual breach claim in the Business & Property Courts. This included preparation for numerous interlocutory applications and appeals (including up to the Supreme Court), as well as overseeing the disclosure process and the preparation of witness statements.
